Vanguard is a privately-owned international protection agency that provides security services to Chinese clients around the world. During Lunar New Year celebrations, one of their clients, tycoon Qin Guoli (Jackson Lou) is attacked by members of an aggressive foreign terrorist group. Ching Loong (Jackie Chan), a young student suddenly thrown into the limelight when his Red School elder, Cheng Keung (Wei Pei), drops out of the annual Lion Dance competition in Guangzhou.
