  Beat Beat Beat was a German music programme that ran during the sixties. Not to be confused with the other well known German pop programme Beat Club Beat Beat Beat was broadcast out of Frankfurt commencing in 1966. The programme ran to 26 episodes between its launch in 1966 and the final programme in January 1969 all of which are still in the German television archives. The shows were eclectic affairs and included performances by artists as diverse as Eric Burdon and the New Animals The Move Sam and Dave Cat Stevens and Barry Ryan to name just a few. This first compilation is an eclectic one featuring Casey Jones and The Governors Cat Stevens Easybeats Hermans Hermits Chris Farlowe Barry Ryan Brian Auger and the Trinity Ft. Julie Driscoll. Carole is back behind the reception desk together with her children after her brief glimpse of security as Nanny with the Austrian Herr Von Trapp. Unfortunately the possibility of her hearing wedding bells was dashed when he ditched her and married one of the nuns. Colin found that his boil mysteriously disappeared after Brittas died but In a fond act of remembrance he kept it preserved in a jar at home. Colin also has on his conscience the bomb he inadvertently placed in Mr. Brittas' croquet set when he was due to move to Brussels. Whatever did happen to that bomb? Episodes comprise: 1. Arachnid: A viral outbreak on a remote South Pacific island lures a secret expedition to investigate. The natives there are dying from a lethal cocktail of neurotoxins and the most likely cause is a venomous spider bite. The suspect - a previously unknown species of arachnid. Now a terrifying predator with a voracious appetite and a killer instinct is hunting ex-Navy pilot Lauren Mercer and her team of soldiers and scientists. To make matters worse the thing is multiplying at a ferocious rate.   For many people Chris Thompson will perhaps be best remembered as the singer for Manfred Manns Earthband. Chris sang on the hits Blinded By The Light and Daveys On The Road Again as well as a number of hugely successful albums. From the Earthband Chris then formed Night alongside Stevie Lange Robbie McIntosh and Nicky Hopkins and again scoring success in America with two albums for Richard Perrys Planet record label and two hit singles. Since that time Chris has made a number of solo album as well as working with some of the biggest names in music such as Queen Elton John and many more. In the mid eighties Chris Thompson co wrote the song Youre The Voice which was a massive worldwide hit for Australian singer John Farnham. Currently Chris is reprising his role in the live tour of Jeff Waynes Musical Version of The War of the Worlds as it tours the world. Chris sang the song Thunder Child on the original 1978 album release. This concert was filmed in Tromso with the Mads Erikson band. The hot element comes from the bands performance and the cold comes from the almost Arctic temperatures outside the venue in Norway.
