The lightest of the first three films, Lethal Weapon 3 finds everyone occupying comfortable positions like students who always choose to sit in the same classroom seats. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover return as LAPD partners whose working method consists of the former diving into danger and the latter holding back. (The sequence set in the parking garage of a building, in which Gibson inadvertently trips a switch that makes a timed explosive device speed up, is priceless.) Joe Pesci once again plays a motor-mouth pest, and while the story is pretty much forgettable, it does introduce the best new dynamic in the series, a romance between Gibson and Rene Russo's equally tough but attractive cop. --Tom Keogh

Yanks Go Home takes a hilarious (and, at the time, controversial) look at relations between a group of American servicemen and the inhabitants of the Lancashire town in which they are billeted during World War Two. Both parties experience a series of culture shocks, with the GIs encountering resentment and romance in equal measure. Starring Peter Sallis, Stuart Damon, Bruce Boa and Lionel Murton, this set comprises all thirteen episodes from both series. It's 1942, and a detachment of GIs is about to descend on Warrington. The town clerk, a motley crowd and a band wait anxiously at the station, while local landlady Phoebe Sankey and her daughter, Doreen, speculate as to what the Americans' arrival will bring. Some of the older residents are none too keen on the prospect of USAF troops making themselves at home in their town; but when they see the money flowing in the local pub as a shindig gets going, even they grudgingly admit that the 'invasion' has its advantages!

A multi-award winning and intensely unique Australian movie that explosively follows in the traditions of Wolf Creek and Chopper, The Horseman is a red-raw insight into one man's quest for very a painful sort of vengeance and retribution.

By the end of the 1960s, British television had done adventurers and sleuths to death. If Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) was the supernatural spin on the mystery format, The Champions was the science-fiction version, mixing comic-book superheroics into the globe-trotting do-gooders formula. In the pilot, square-jawed Craig Sterling (Stuart Damon), model-gorgeous Sharron Macready (Alexandra Bastedo) and ironic Brit Richard Barrett (William Gaunt)--agents of an international good-guy organisation called Nemesis--find themselves in a Shangri-La-style forgotten Tibetan civilisation, where they undergo training in extrasensory perception and superhuman strength. Back home, they use their powers to tackle a mixture of ordinary crime and more complicated nefarious plans that have a semi-science fiction feel. The good-looking Damon and Bastedo seem to have had their personalities erased in the mountains, leaving Gaunt to shoulder all the acting weight. Nevertheless, it has a kind of creaky, straight-faced charm, like some lost British take on Marvel Comics' superhero teams. Volume One covers: "The Beginning", the pilot story, with Felix Aylmer as a Tibetan lama; and "The Invisible Man", which features cranial implants and bank robbery, with Peter Wyngarde (who played the title role in Jason King) as the baddie. --Kim Newman
Black Sunday was such a huge hit that a follow-up was swiftly demanded, and horror maestro Mario Bava duly devised this three-part horror anthology blending modern and period stories. In the giallo-style The Telephone', a woman is terrorised by her former pimp after his escape from prison, and tries to escape him with the help of her lesbian lover, who has a dark secret of her own. In the Victorian-era The Drop of Water', a nurse steals a ring from the corpse of a dead spiritualist, which naturally tries to get it back. But it's the 19th-century Russian story The Wurdalak' that comes closest to Bava's earlier classic, with the great Boris Karloff as a much-loved paterfamilias who might not be entirely what he seems. Features: Bava's direction is as stylish as ever, and Black Sabbath is almost a compendium of his favourite themes. High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) and Standard Definition DVD presentation of two versions of the film; I tre volti della paura' the European version with score by Roberto Nicolosi & Black Sabbath' the re-edited and re-dubbed AIP version with Les Baxter score, on home video for the first time English SDH subtitles for English Audio and a new English subtitle translation of the Italian audio Audio Commentary with Bava biographer and expert Tim Lucas
