In 1993 a group of childhood friends in Omaha Nebraska released 100 copies of a casette tape by a 13 year old singer - songwriter / little brother Conor Oberst. Two years later the name Saddle Creek Records was etched in vinyl and what began as a collective local music scene would soon gain attention as a centre of independent music in America.
