Eureka Entertainment to release USED CARS, Robert Zemeckis' classic 80s screwball comedy starring Kurt Russell and Jack Warden, for the first time on Blu-ray in the UK as part of the Eureka Classics range from 12 August 2019. The first print run will feature a Limited Edition Collector's booklet. A hilarious cult favourite from director Robert Zemeckis (The Back to the Future Trilogy, Who Framed Roger Rabbit), Used Cars is a high-octane comic salute to the supersalesmen whose persuasive pitches transformed rattling wrecks into your dream car. Kurt Russell (Escape from New York, Big Trouble in Little China) is Rudy Russo, the top salesmen at the New Deal used car lot run by Luke Fuchs (Jack Warden). Caught up in a crazy feud between Luke and his brother Roy (also played by Warden) who runs the rival car lot across the street, Rudy must put his grifting skills into overdrive as the battle for sales supremacy escalates into all-out war! Under-appreciated on release, Used Cars is now recognised as one of the funniest comedies of the 1980s. Eureka Classics is delighted to present Used Cars in its UK debut on Blu-ray. Bachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation (2008): Ron and Melinda may be happily engaged but Melinda's scheming brother-in-law Todd doesn't like the thought of a new addition to the family business so he plans to incriminate Ron at the ultimate bachelor bash in Miami Beach. Between Ron's party-hearty friends and Todd's tantalizing temptations not to mention a sex addicts convention right in their hotel it's an outrageously sinful celebration that you have to see to believe.

Used Cars, the 1980 film by director Robert Zemeckis, gives no indication of things to come in his career (Back to the Future, Contact, Forrest Gump), but it is representative of a certain cynical humour he shared early on with writer-partner Bob Gale. Kurt Russell and Jack Warden star in a sketchy comedy about competing used-car salesmen who resort to outrageous tactics to lure customers away from each other. The jokes, like the characters, are intentionally recycled, self-conscious comic fodder from a baby-boomer's lifetime (such as Gale's or Zemeckis') of immersion in pop culture. That makes Used Cars more pastiche than original (the film's title itself suggests that), but as such it has some good, if vaguely familiar, laughs in it. Russell, particularly, is very funny as a practiced con man. --Tom Keogh, Amazon.com
