What a fantastic season 2004-2005 was for Everton. With the departure of Mr. Rooney in the summer and Thomas Graveson's exit to Real Madrid some feared for a decline in Everton's performances how wrong they were. Moyes galvinised a team and made them fight for every inch of the pitch; subsequently the Toffee men secured fourth place and Champions League football next term. The 2009 FA Cup Final was one of the most eagerly anticipated in recent years. Chelsea were looking to give departing manager Guus Hiddink the prefect send off and to win some silverware after a couple of barren years. Meanwhile Everton were hoping to win their first trophy since 1995. The match that followed lived up to all expectations. On a sweltering day and with the two sets of fans in good voice the drama started virtually from the first whistle. After only twenty five seconds Louis Saha had put Everton ahead. It was the quickest ever FA Cup Final goal and sent the Everton fans into ecstasy. A shell shocked Chelsea slowly worked their way back into the match and deservedly equalised midway through the match courtesy of a powerful header from Didier Drogba. Chelsea continued to dominate their Merseyside rivals - although the Toffees had chances of their own - so it came as no surprise when they took the lead. A wonderful left foot strike from Frank Lampard was worthy of winning any match and it proved to be the decisive goal as the Blues held on to record a memorable victory. This programme showcases the full match from a glorious day at Wembley including post match reaction. It also includes a number of bonus features including the Top Ten Goals from the tournament Chelsea's Route to the Final and a interview with the majestic Guus Hiddink. Enjoy this Cup cracker over and over again!
