  This explosive DVD was shot at multiple shows earlier this year with the majority of the footage taken from the Chicago show on July 25th. The live tracks on the DVD are intercut with behind the scenes documentary footage shot throughout the world (including Iceland Dubai and Europe). So this is not a straightforward concert DVD from beginning to end and actually makes for some really cool viewing. The majority of the audio on the CD (tracks 1-11) is original music created by the band's guitarist Michael Einziger. It's mostly instrumental but does feature other musicians and band members. Filmed over a period of two years, this captures a band in development, honing their unique mix of metal, hip-hop and more cultural influences. The live material is intense, the videos visionary and the interviews proof that Brandon Boyd and co are a cut above your average brainless rock outfit--as indeed is this release. On the DVD: for once here’s a release that utilises the true potential of the DVD format. It’s a truly interactive experience, inviting the viewer to explore the material on offer, as opposed to just pressing play and sitting back. This means it’s possible to return to the disc over and over again without stumbling across the same sections twice. An Incubus slot machine throws up random sections and it’s easy to become lost in the music as you move from acoustic tracks to a comedy performance on US TV.
