Roman and Maru, two troubled teenagers, attempt an impossible rebellion against the adult world.
Negus (Gabino RodrÃguez), Chale (Juan Pablo de Santiago), Sapo (Ãngel Sosa) and Chata (Paulina Avalos) are four teenagers growing up in the gritty, unforgiving streets of Mexico City. Under a numbing drone of hip-hop and a haze of marijuana, the friends spend most of their time fantasizing about a life they'll never have. When frustration and monotony take hold, the four plan to rob a movie theatre and reap the sweet rewards. It turns out the gang have much more of a penchant for criminality than they first imagined. In a rush for money and adrenaline, however, their vital friendship will be pushed to its limits. The Cinema Hold Up is a fast, visceral portrayal of Mexican youth culture, as shrewd and sharp as the streets of Mexico City.
