Billy Crystal plays the straight man to neurotic Robin Williams when these two very different individuals join forces to find a runaway teenager. Both, you see, have been told they are the boy's father by Nastassja Kinski, with whom each had once been involved. This Disney production is based on the more humorous French farce, Les Compères, by Francis Veber (who cowrote this adaptation). It has its moments as breezy entertainment, but the plot is sloppy enough to seem more like slapstick than sophisticated comedy. The gags are contrived, and it fails to unfold with believability, or grace. More interesting than the writing are the performances, as Crystal brings surprising depth to his cynical lawyer and Williams is exceptionally fine-tuned as a suicidal and dippy writer with a very kind heart. --Rochelle O'Gorman, Amazon.com --This text refers to the VHS edition of this video

Director Luigi Bazzoni's unique vision of 'FOOTPRINTS ON THE MOON' is brought to life by the striking cinematography of Vittorio Storaro (three-time Oscar® winner including 'Apocalypse Now'). Florinda Bolkan ('Flavia The Heretic') delivers a masterful, nuanced performance bringing captivating depth to the character of Alice - a young translator grappling with memory loss. Tormented by nightmare visions of a sinister scientist (Klaus Kinski) deliberately abandoning astronauts to die on the Moon, Alice is struggling to recall three missing days. A mysterious postcard beckons her to the enigmatic island of Garma. Once there, an unsettling revelation unfolds: the inhabitants recognise her presence during the unaccounted-for days, not as Alice, but as another person named Nicole. Confronting uncomfortable truths, Alice embarks on a quest to unravel the mystery shrouding her identity and the events of those missing days - a quest which culminates in murder and an extraordinarily surreal finale. Touching on mental health issues as well as on climate change, it resonates with today's challenges while immersing viewers in an emotionally charged experience that transcends the ordinary. 'FOOTPRINTS' unfolds as a mesmerising exploration of identity and the boundaries of perceived reality, memory, dreams, and existential mysteries; it stands as the most haunting and visually stunning Giallo you will ever see, presented here restored from 4K scans of the original camera negative, finally doing justice to the exquisite unearthly visions of its creators. Clint Eastwood's Man with No Name spawned imitations, variations and shameless rip-offs keen to emulate his success at the box office. Within months of A Fistful of Dollars' release, Giuliano Gemma was playing Ringo, who was then followed by Franco Nero's Django, Tony Anthony's The Stranger and Gianni Garko's Sartana each providing their own twist on the Eastwood antihero, and each of them then subject to their own spate of unofficial sequels, spoofs and cash-ins. Sartana tapped into more than just his Spaghetti Western predecessors a mysterious figure, he has a spectral quality, aided by his Count Dracula-alike cloak which also nods towards comic strip figure Mandrake the Magician, with whom he shares he shares a penchant for card tricks. He takes pride in his appearance unlike the Eastwood's dusty wanderer or Nero's mud-caked drifter. And there's a dose of James Bond too in his fondness for gadgetry and the droll sense of humor. Unsurprisingly, this unique figure in the genre was treated to four official follow-ups. The Complete Sartana collects all five films, presented here in brand-new restorations: If You Meet Sartana...
