  The one film in John Cusack's filmography he'd probably like us all to forget, this 80s-style preppy-in-peril film (compare and contrast with After Hours and Something Wild) casts him as a college student who gets mixed up with pirates and drug runners around the Caribbean. The wannabe screwball comedy falls flatter with each gag but Cusack's hang-dog sweetness and knack with one-liners carries it through and at the very least it's worth catching if only for a glimpse of Ben Stiller in his pre-There's Something About Mary fame days, in a double act here with his real-life father Jerry Stiller. --Leslie Felperin

  The first time that the opening episode of Slim Shady Version II was shown to the public as a prelude to Eminem's live set on the Anger Management tour in America, it received critical acclaim. The point was clear, ran the consensus: by juxtaposing cartoon images of his split personality alongside South Park characters, Marshall Mathers was querying why their anti-social behaviour is satire and his is offensive. More episodes then turned up on the Web leading MTV to commission these nine five-minute shorts in which Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers run around taking drugs, swearing, attempting to have sex and beating up pop stars such as N'Stink and Pristina Gagulera. Sadly, those kind of lame puns are about as funny as it gets. A typical scene runs like this: the boys spot Matt Damon and Ben Affleck and they beat them up. That's it. Worse still, any sense of characterisation that places in context the anger and prejudice of Eminem's recorded work is lost here, leaving dumb and rather ugly misogyny to stand alone. A brief documentary about the making of the shorts is equally as grim and proves that cartoons really shouldn't be made by people with no sense of humour.--Ian Watson

But on the way new information and Dunson's tyrannical ways cause Matthew to take the herd away from Dunson and head to a new railhead in Kansas. Dunson swearing vengeance pursues. The Horse Soldiers: A Union Calvary outfit is sent behind confederate lines in strength to destroy a rail / supply centre. Along with them is sent a doctor who causes instant antipathy between him and the commander. The scret plan for the mission is overheard by a southern belle who must be taken along to ensure her silence. The Union officers each have different reason for wanting to be on the mission.
