You believe in revenge but I don’t… it never ends. Inspired by the international success of the Dollars trilogy and dedicated to director Sergio Leone Cemetery Without Crosses offers a Gallic spin on the Spaghetti Western formula thanks to its star and creator Robert Hossein (best-known to English-speaking audiences for his role in Jules Dassin’s Rififi). After her husband is lynched by bandits Michèle Mercier (Mario Bava’s Black Sabbath) seeks revenge and turns to an old friend played by Hossein for help. A solitary figure who lives in a ghost town and dons a single black glove before each gunfight Hossein is initially reluctant but soon infiltrates the widow’s enemies to force a showdown. Cemetery Without Crosses is a darker breed of Western bleak and melancholy in tone amid the explosive set pieces. It also boasts an outstanding score by composer André Hossein (father of Robert) and the catchiest of themes sung by cult figure Scott Walker. Black Sunday was such a huge hit that a follow-up was swiftly demanded, and horror maestro Mario Bava duly devised this three-part horror anthology blending modern and period stories. In the giallo-style 'The Telephone', a woman is terrorized by her former pimp after his escape from prison, and tries to escape him with the help of her lesbian lover, who has a dark secret of her own. In the Victorian-era 'The Drop of Water', a nurse steals a ring from the corpse of a dead spiritualist, which naturally tries to get it back. But it's the 19th-century Russian story 'The Wurdalak' that comes closest to Bava's earlier classic, with the great Boris Karloff as a much-loved paterfamilias who might not be entirely what he seems. Bava's direction is as stylish as ever, and Black Sabbath is almost a compendium of his favourite themes. Special Features: High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) and Standard Definition DVD presentation of two versions of the film; 'I tre volti della paura' - the European version with score by Roberto Nicolosi and 'Black Sabbath' - the re-edited and re-dubbed AIP version with Les Baxter score, on home video for the first time English SDH subtitles for English Audio and a new English subtitle translation of the Italian audio Audio Commentary with Bava biographer and expert Tim Lucas Introduction to the film by author and critic Alan Jones A Life In Film - An Interview with star Mark Damon Three Faces of Black Sabbath - A comparison of the different versions of the film International Trailer US Trailer Italian Trailer TV and Radio Spots Collector's booklet featuring new writing on the film by critic David Cairns and a substantial interview with AIP Producer Samuel Z. On april 8th 1994 Kurt Cobain the lead singer of nirvana was found dead in his seattle home of an apparent shotgun wound to the head and with three times the lethal amount of heroin in his system. A note lay at the scene. The verdict was suicide. Others are sceptical. After ten years his death still remains debated. Nirvana redefined the sound of the 90s and the band's front man Kurt Cobain remains the only true Musical icon of the post-punk era. However the band's huge international success only heightened Cobains heroin addiction and depression and when he committed suicide in 1994 a generation had lost its hero. 'Kurt Cobain - All Apologies' is a fascinating and highly emotional tribute to the man and his music from those who were inspired by his extraordinary genius. It also charts his tragic downward spiral and increasing isolation which not even his marriage to Courtney Love or the birth of his daughter Frances Brean could stop. Featuring a critical reassessment of his work 'All Apologies' attempts to understand why Cobain still continues to be a role model for disaffected youth. It also analyses Nirvana's contribution to the annals of rock history from the early days of Bleach to the multi-million selling album Nevermind and beyond. In a series of exclusive interviews Nirvana members Cobain's family and media pundits comment on his life and values revealing the inspiration behind his music and how fame affected him both personally and artistically.
