A british collective formed in Hamburg in 1969 Nektar soon earned a reputation for outstanding visual and musical performances. Nektar's unique brand of psychedelic progressive rock made them an influential band of the genre throughout the seventies and early eighties. Nektar are very much Nektar but if pushed the band could be said to have similarities with Pink Floyd Deep Purple and Yes - great melodies crunchy guitar riffs and raging Hammond organ. 'Pure - Live in Germany' is a real treat for fans. Nektar present themselves live in top form recorded in 2004 at the legendary German TV Rockpalast show. As a bonus there are 4 unplugged tracks which the band recorded during an unplugged session one day after the concert. When the news broke that the original line-up of Nektar would be performing at the Patriot Theatre in New Jersey for Nearfest 2002 tickets for the event sold out in just 45 minutes! This is the stunning film of that magical evening when Nektar were joined on stage by keyboard wizard Larry Fast for a set featuring classic Nektar including material from landmark albums like 'A Tab In The Ocean' 'Remember The Future' 'Recycled' and 'Down To Earth'. Especiallly for this event visual effects designer Mick Brockett recreated the 1970's original liquid light show which made Nektar famous. Concert footage rare archive material backstage film interaviews and documentary film are combined to produce a magnificent portrait of an emotional return by one of the true legends of rock.
