An Underground Experience is a seedy documentation of one of the most important icons of subculture. She is caught on suitably grainy video footage doing what she did best performing in an underground club. Shot in the early 80s with punk rock as an audience the film is hardly stunning yet this somehow enhances its authenticity. Nico's presence is both powerful and at times moving especially during the interview section. Heroine is a hauntingly beautiful film of Nico's acoustic performance at Manchester's Library Theatre. The overpowering ambience of her music manages to cross over the fine line between tragedy and joy. Richly lyrical and intensely emotional Nico reflects on her loves losses and fears along the melancholy echoes of The velvet Underground. Tracks include: My Heart Is Empty / All Tomorrow's Parties / Valley Of The Kings / The Sphinx / We've Got The Gold / Mutterlein / Afraid / Innocent And Vain / Frozen Warnings / Fearfully In Danger / Tanamore / Femme Fatale

FORGIVE ME: By openly exceeding the borders of the acceptable the idealistic filmmaker Cyrus Frisch hopes the stream of violence and misery on television will finally come to an end. The praise he gained after the first screening of brutal scenes with social outcasts he filmed made him outrageous. The director sells himself to the devil and goes even further in the abuse of his protagonists. How long can the viewer stay a passive accomplice?
