The Beta Band were truly a great band who will be sadly missed by their fans and counterparts industry wide. They gave us innovative new music and creative cleverness that left most other groups far behind. They had 'a hands' on art school approach to most of what they did in terms of video and artwork that worked brilliantly in visually representing themselves and also inspiring countless other bands at the development and established level. Its fair to say that their legacy is not fully understood as yet and no doubt over the next few years their legend will grow and grow. Disc 1: Trailers: 1. Private Wars 2. King Rib 3. One of the few bands to have success on both the rock and pop as well as the country charts The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has had hit records in five different decades and has lasted longer than virtually any other country-based rock group of their era.Younger contemporaries of the Byrds they played an almost equally important role in the transformation from folk-rock into country-rock and were an influence on such bands as the Eagles and Alabama and released the seminal triple album Will the Circle Be Unbroken in January of 1973 that became a million-seller.The band have since performed and recorded with any number of country/bluegrass crossover artists whose career paths were made easier by that first record including John Hiatt Mary Chapin Carpenter and Rosanne Cash.Featured Tracks:High HorsePartners Brothers FriendsRandy LynnHome Again In My HeartCadillac RanchScruggs RagLong Hard RoadDance Little JeanMr BojanglesSpecial Guest:Stella Parton - Standard Lie #1 Danger Of A StrangerGus Harding - Wall Of Tears All Tangled Up
