First formed in a blaze in 1983 and scoring 3 Top Twenty singles in their first year The Style Council comprising permanent members Paul Weller Mick Talbot Dee C Lee and Steve White supported by others - did much to silence critics of Weller's decision to split The Jam. Their subsequent progress through 1984 to 1989 saw a more diverse style of music and songwriting with hits becoming more sporadic mainly whilst Paul exercised his political views more vocally through music. Nevertheless they were constantly in the Top Forty during this period despite a changing line-up and direction. Tracklisting 1. Intro - Me Ship Came In 2. The Big Boss Groove 3.
