Sergio Leone directs this spaghetti Western featuring Clint Eastwood in his first big-screen starring role in a remake of the Japanese film 'Yojimbo' (1961). Laconic gunslinger the Man With No Name (Eastwood) makes a financial killing by playing two feuding families off each other in a small southwestern town. As the mysterious man arrives in the small town of San Miguel, the town innkeeper informs him of an ongoing feud between the Rojo brothers and the family of the town sheriff, John Baxter (Wolfgang Lukschy). Plotting a means to make fast money, the stranger double-crosses both sides and heightens the tension between them while he makes his mark and earns his prize.
