Will Gluck directs, writes and produces this modern adaptation of the classic story of young orphan girl Annie. When struggling mayoral candidate William Stacks (Jamie Foxx) saves a young girl's life after she runs out into the road, his election potential suddenly looks much more promising. Realising the positive impact that this little girl could have on his poll figures, Stacks tracks down the foster home where Annie (Quvenzhané Wallis) is resident and asks her current foster parent, the wicked Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz), to allow him to take the girl in. Could these two lonely souls give each other a family?
