Directed by Oliver Stone ('Wall Street', 'JFK'), this tense drama sets out to lift the lid on the world of American pro football. The story focuses on the Miami Sharks, currently in the midst of a four-game losing streak which has brought team president Christina Pagniacci (Cameron Diaz) into conflict with coach Tony D'Amato (Al Pacino). When the next game in the season proves a victory, it leads to further problems when the star player Willie Beaman (Jamie Foxx) lets his success goes to his head and begins to overrule the coach. Battling both the increasing pressure exerted by the power-hungry Christina and the disrespect he is receiving from the arrogant Willie, Tony knows it's going to be a struggle to get the team in shape in time for the all-important playoff game against Dallas.
