The first instalment in the feature adaptation of the manga series following the adventures of an orphaned mercenary and the fierce leader who brings him under his wing. Guts (voice of Hiroaki Iwanaga) had an exceptionally difficult childhood, growing up in a mercenary camp, where he was taught the formidable fighting skills from which he now makes his living. However, he meets his match in the form of Griffith (Takahiro Sakurai), the mercenary leader who defeats Guts and thus claims him as part of his gang. Together, Griffith, Guts and another member of the gang, Casca (Toa Yukinari), rise to prominence within the kingdom thanks to their exploits. Where will it all lead?
