Meet Jack Foley (George Clooney) the most successful bank robber in the country. On the day he busts out of jail he finds himself stealing something far more precious than money: Karen Sisco's (Jennifer Lopez) heart. She's smart sexy and unfortunately for Jack she's a Federal Marshal. Now they're willing to risk it all to find out if there's more between them than just the law...
As the third in a sequence of films adapted from Elmore Leonard novels (after Get Shorty and Jackie Brown), this film has to be the stand out. George Clooney is the stand out, in a role where he provides the kind of chemistry with Jennifer Lopez that movie makers would give their right arm to continually achieve. The clear, crisp picture quality on Blu-Ray does a lot to enhance Steven Soderbergh's style of trying to bring a different colour or shade to each of the sets. This film is more of a visual feast so it is difficult to determine whether the superior sound quality, that Blu-Ray brings with it, greatly benefits this film to any extent. The behind the scenes documentary is the stand out amongst the extra, providing an excellent insight into the making of the movie and includes what appears to be a great on set joke, between some of the cast, about the competency of the director. One of the top 10 movies in my collection.
