Director Hugh Hudson's cut of his 1985 adventure drama set during the American Revolutionary War. Al Pacino stars as Tom Dobb, a New York fur trapper who joins the revolutionaries when his son, Ned (Sid Owen/Dexter Fletcher), is conscripted by the cruel Sergeant Major Peasy (Donald Sutherland). As he fights for freedom, Tom falls for Daisy McConnahay (Nastassja Kinski), a woman who abandons her first-class status to become a rebel, and tries to protect his son from harm.
