Japanese action sequel based on the manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki. Set during the Meiji era, the film follows Himura Kenshin (Takeru Satô), who has now settled down and is living a peaceful life with Kamiya Kaoru (Emi Takei). However, when the government come under threat from Makoto Shishio (Tatsuya Fujiwara), a former assassin who was betrayed and left badly burned, and his army of warriors, Kenshin makes the difficult decision to leave his new life behind and fight to prevent another civil war.
