Second feature in the Bollywood crime thriller franchise 'Shootout'. Set before the events of the previous film 'Shootout at Lokhandwala' (2007), the story follows real-life gangster Manya Surve, who is portrayed by John Abraham, and his encounter with the Mumbai Police in 1982 in which he was shot dead - the first ever encounter killing by the Mumbai forces. After murdering a man while protecting his crooked brother from a crime boss's henchmen, Manya is sent to prison where he makes both friends and enemies. He manages to escape and soon becomes involved with two mobster brothers Zubair (Manoj Bajpai) and Dilawar Imtiaz Haskar (Sonu Sood). Meanwhile, Inspector Afaaque Bhaagran (Anil Kapoor) attempts to track him down.
