Based on the legendary Marvel Comics series, "Spider-Man 3" sees Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) finally getting the balance right between his commitment to M.J (Kirsten Dunst) and his responsibilities as a superhero. However, problems soon begin to brew for our young webbed hero. Harry Obsourne, Peter's old friend, still blames him for his father's death and is out for revenge, adopting his late father Ben's persona as The New Goblin. Meanwhile Peter must also capture Ben's real killer, Flint Marko, who has transformed himself into the Sandman - could this be Spiderman's... toughest opponent yet? What's more, peter has to battle demons of his very own, when an alien symbiote from outer space crash lands near Peter and attaches itself to his Spider-suit, turning it to black. How does Spider-Man 3 follow on the heels of its predecessor, which was widely considered the best superhero movie ever? For starters, you pick up the loose threads from that movie, then add some key elements of the Spidey comic-book mythos (including fan-favorite villain Venom), the black costume, and the characters of Gwen Stacy and her police-captain father. In the beginning, things have never looked better for Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire): He's doing well in school; his alter ego, Spider-Man, is loved and respected around New York City. Tobey Maguire returns for another outing as the eponymous superhero, set three years after 'Spider-Man 2' (2004). Peter Parker (Maguire) and his girl Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) are on the cusp of contentment - but not for long. His ex-friend Harry (James Franco), son of Norman Osborn aka the Green Goblin, becomes the New Goblin in his desire for revenge against Spider-Man. Fugitive Flint Marko (Thomas Haden Church), killer of Peter's Uncle Ben, has been transformed into the shape-shifting Sandman, possibly Spider-Man's toughest foe so far. To complicate matters further, a parasitic alien symbiote has attached itself to Peter's suit, giving him even greater powers but also bringing out the evil side of his personality. He has to struggle not only against two major adversaries but also against himself.
