This is the 2013 film of James Thurber's brilliant short story from 1939; The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Mitty, a good natured, absent minded fantasist, regularly manages to escape the stark reality of his tediously dull life by allowing himself to disappear totally into the depths of his own imagination. He often becomes completely drawn into his exciting daydream world which is crammed to the brim with heroism, romance and action adventure.
One day, on discovering his job and that of his colleague is under threat; he decides to take remedial action.... At this point his world of make believe seems to begin to converge with reality and he embarks on a remarkable worldwide journey so full of strange happenings and astonishing adventures that it even exceeds the boundaries of his own bizarre imagination.
Brilliant film of this classic story - with great performances from Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig, Shirley McLaine, Adam Scott, Patton Oswalt and many more. A must see!
