Directed by Bryan Singer, Valkyrie is a historical thriller starring Tom Cruise as outspoken Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg in the height of World War 2. Instead of all guns-blazing action this film uniquely uses suspense and tension in its offering of war-torn German history. During World War II, German Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg is seriously injured whilst in Africa and is sent home to Nazi Germany. With renewed vigor, Stauffenberg is determined to see Germany pried out of the hands of Hitler. Whilst working on Hitler's operation Valkyrie, that would see... a shadow government put in place in the event of the Führer's death, Stauffenberg decides to use his plan against him in order to take control of the country and make peace with the Allies, however, he soon finds the mission corrupted by forces outside of his control. Tom Cruise stars as a high ranking German officer, who along with a small group of peers hatches a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler in an attempt to end the war. [show more]
