The Young Victoria is a British costume drama film directed by the Canadian Jean-Marc Vallée, produced by Martin Scorsese et al and starring Emily Blunt, Miranda Richardson, and Jim Broadbent. When you think of Queen Victoria you probably envisage an elderly widow in black, but there is more to her life than that. This film challenges your perceptions about the queen, the longest-reigning monarch in history and gives us a unique insight into her youth. The film chronicles her rise to power, the turbulent first few years of her reign and most of all the epic romance... between her and Prince Albert, one of the most passionate love affairs in history.
