Eureka Entertainment to release Billy Wilder's ONE, TWO, THREE, a witty and energetic comedic showpiece starring James Cagney, presented on Blu-ray for the first time in the UK as a part of The Masters of Cinemas Series from 15 April 2019, featuring a Limited Edition slipcase [2000 copies ONLY]. One of director Billy Wilder's most frenetic comedies, the madcap Cold War and corporate politics satire One, Two, Three has to be one of the only films almost capable of making its Wilder predecessors Some Like It Hot and The Apartment seem sedately paced in comparison. Featuring a hilarious lead performance by James Cagney (apparently so exhausted by the rapid-fire pace that he then retired for twenty years!), One, Two, Three hasn't always been as famous as Wilder's other comedies, but it's among his best. Cagney is C.R. Mac MacNamara, a top Coca-Cola executive shipped off to (then West) Berlin and told to keep an eye on his boss' 17-year-old Atlanta socialite daughter Scarlett (Pamela Tiffin) while she visits Germany. Scarlett's tour seems endless, and Mac discovers she's fallen for a (then East) Berlin communist agitator and the young couple are bound for Moscow! Mac has to bust up the burgeoning romance before his boss learns the truth, all the while dealing with his wife Phyllis (Arlene Francis) and her own impatience with German living. With One, Two, Three, Wilder set out to make the fastest picture in the world. Mission accomplished, so hang on and try not to miss too many gags if this is your first viewing of this knockabout comedy penned by Wilder's long-time screenwriter I.A.L. Diamond. The Masters of Cinema Series is proud to present yet another Billy Wilder masterpiece on Blu-ray for the first time ever in the UK. Features: Limited Edition O Card slipcase [2000 copies ONLY] 1080p presentation on Blu-ray LPCM audio (original mono presentation) Optional English SDH subtitles Brand New and Exclusive Interview with film scholar Neil Sinyard Feature Length Audio Commentary by Film Historian Michael Schlesinger PLUS: A Collector's booklet featuring new essays by film scholar Henry K. Since re-emerging in the 2000s Billy Wilder's superb Ace in the Hole so ahead of its time in the 1950s with its acidic and unflinching examination of journalistic ethics and human morality has taken its place alongside Double Indemnity Sunset Boulevard or Some Like It Hot as among the director's greatest works. In one of the most powerhouse performances in American screen-acting the great Kirk Douglas stars as Chuck Tatum a newspaper reporter who stumbles upon a potentially career-making story in Albuquerque New Mexico (nearly sixty years later the setting for Vince Gilligan's Breaking Bad). When Tatum begins to influence the story's outcome a descent beings that finds more than one man caught between a rock and a hard place. An electric narrative that stands as one of Wilder's tautest and most (melo)dramatic plots (penned with Lesser Samuels and Walter Newman) Ace in the Hole plays today as a prescient examination of the modern media landscape and the public appetite for the disastrous news-story that leads to toxic wish-fulfilment. - I can handle big news and little news. And if there's no news I'll go out and bite a dog. - The Masters of Cinema Series is proud to present our third major Billy Wilder release with this stunning Blu-ray edition of Ace in the Hole. Special Features: Gorgeous 1080p transfer of the film More on-disc extras to be announced closer to release! 40-page booklet with a new essay vintage interview material rare archival imagery and more!

Eureka Entertainment to release Billy Wilder's IRMA LA DOUCE, a crowd-pleasing romantic comedy starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine on Blu-ray as a part of The Masters of Cinemas Series from 18 March 2019. One of director Billy Wilder's biggest box office hits following his landmark comedies Some Like It Hot and The Apartment, the spectacular Irma La Douce -- adapted from the 1956 musical for the French theatre -- reunites Wilder with his Apartment stars Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine, providing the latter with one of her most fondly remembered (and Oscar®-nominated) early roles. MacLaine is Irma, a popular Parisian prostitute whose new pimp is an unlikely procurer: Nestor (Lemmon) is a former honest cop who was just fired and framed by his boss after Nestor inadvertently had him arrested in a raid. However, Nestor's love for Irma is making his newfound vocation impossible, so he poses as a phoney British lord who insists on being Irma's one and only client. But when Lord X appears to have become the victim of foul play...further comedic complications ensue! Irma La Douce offers many of the same sardonic observations on human nature as Wilder's earlier comedies -- in addition to the same riotous humour and touching romance -- but on an even broader, more colourful canvas. Collaborating again with his regular screenwriter I.A.L. Diamond, Wilder delivers one of his most purely entertaining crowd-pleasers of the 1960s. Features: Stunning 1080p presentation from a brand new 4K restoration LPCM Mono audio Optional English SDH subtitles Brand New and Exclusive Interview with film scholar Neil Sinyard Feature Length Audio Commentary by critic and film historian Kat Ellinger Feature Length Audio Commentary by film historian Joseph McBride PLUS: A Collector's booklet featuring a new essay by Richard Combs, alongside a wide selection of rare archival imagery.

Audrey Hepburn is the delightful, young, eponymous Sabrina, the daughter of a chauffeur who is hopelessly in love with David Larrabee (William Holden), the playboy younger son in the rich Long Island household her father works for. In order to help her forget her woes, Sabrina is shipped off to cooking school in Paris. While there, she befriends a baron who provides a bit of culture--and the encouragement to snip off her childlike ponytail. Upon her return to New York, Sabrina is transformed into a sophisticated woman, and David is entranced by her. However, his older brother Linus (Humphrey Bogart) has arranged David's marriage to Elizabeth Tyson in order to seal a business merger and thus must steer David away from Sabrina. To do this, Linus takes on the task of wooing her for himself. Full of great dialogue ("A woman happy in love, she burns the soufflé; a woman unhappy in love, she forgets to turn on the oven") and wonderful performances, this film is a romantic masterpiece. Also enjoyable is the 1995 remake, starring Julia Ormond and Harrison Ford. --Jenny Brown

Maybe "nobody's perfect," as one character in this masterpiece suggests. But some movies are perfect, and Some Like It Hot is one of them. In Chicago, during the Prohibition era, two skirt-chasing musicians, Joe and Jerry (Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon), inadvertently witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. In order to escape the wrath of gangland chief Spats Colombo (George Raft), the boys, in drag, join an all-woman band headed for Florida. They vie for the attention of the lead singer, Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe), a much-disappointed songbird who warbles "I'm Through with Love" but remains vulnerable to yet another unreliable saxophone player. (When Curtis courts her without his dress, he adopts the voice of Cary Grant--a spot-on impersonation.) The script by director Billy Wilder and IAL Diamond is beautifully measured; everything works, like a flawless clock. Aspiring screenwriters would be well advised to throw away the how-to books and simply study this film. The bulk of the slapstick is handled by an unhinged Lemmon and the razor-sharp Joe E. Brown, who plays a horny retiree smitten by Jerry's feminine charms. For all the gags, the film is also wonderfully romantic, as Wilder indulges in just the right amounts of moonlight and the lilting melody of "Park Avenue Fantasy." Some Like It Hot is so delightfully fizzy, it's hard to believe the shooting of the film was a headache, with an unhappy Monroe on her worst behaviour. The results, however, are sublime. --Robert Horton, Amazon.com
