The question 'where were you when you heard John Lennon was killed?' has been asked by millions of people all over the world since the legendary ex-Beatle and humanitarian was shot dead by Mark David Chapman on 8 December 1980. Chapter 27 is first-time writer-director JP Schaefer's own version of the reasons behind the killing. An official selection at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival Chapter 27 stars Hollywood hot properties Jared Leto (Panic Room Lord of War Fight Club) who famously put on 67 pounds to play the part of Chapman and Lindsay Lohan (Mean Girls Bobby) who shines as a hardcore Lennon fan. Following the events leading up to the moment Chapman shot Lennon five times in the back after the singer had autographed an album cover for him Chapter 27 is a play on JD Salinger's classic novel The Catcher in the Rye which ends on chapter 26. Chapman related and modeled his life after the book's main character Holden Caulfield and it was the book he held onto at the time he infamously shot John Lennon. Chapman claimed the book held the reasons behind the heinous act. Portraying Chapman's mental collapse as his demons win over Chapter 27 is shocking thought-provoking and ultimately essential viewing for fans not only of the legendary musician but anyone who want to know more about one of the twentieth century's most talked about events.

With a legacy of leading roles in more than 100 movies along with appearances in countless other works John Wayne would have been 101 years old this year (2008). Wayne's career spanned a 50-year period from the pre-Depression '20s to the politically turbulent '70s but the nature of his films has remained relatively constant. As Wayne himself is said to have quipped I play John Wayne in pretty much every film I do and I've done pretty well so far havn't I? This persona served him well through an early career of serials and B-westerns to higher profile roles including more westerns and war films culminating with his Oscar win for best actor in True Grit. Though Wayne a.k.a. the Duke is respectfully remembered by people with different political philosophies the actor was known in his day as a staunch Republican. The actor lost his battle with cancer in 1979 but his large body of work lives on as a testament to this legendary figure. The Hurricane Express: Being one of Wayne's earliest films The Hurricane Express was actually a serial in 12 parts released in 1932. There aren't any cowboys or horses around for this adventure but there's plenty of action! Baby-faced John Wayne plays an airplane pilot whose father a train engineer is killed when some fiend who calls himself The Wrecker causes the Hurricane Express to crash. Baker (Wayne) swears he will catch the man who killed his father however in true western style the villain always has a way of escaping time and time again (largely due to having a number of life-like masks). The good guys and the bad guys are constantly hopping from trains to cars to airplanes and back again but John Wayne never gives up! The Three Musketeers: All for one and one for all in this action-packed 12 part serial adaptation of Alexander Dumas's 'The Three Musketeers'. Tom Wayne (John Wayne) is a fugitive from justice framed for a murder he did not commit. El Shaitan the mysterious and diabolical leader of the Devil's Circle a group who are plotting an Arab rebellion against the Foreign Legion is to blame. It's up to Tom's sweetheart Elaine (Ruth Hall) and the trustworthy Three Musketeers - Clancy (Jack Mulhall) Renard (Raymond Hatton) and Schmidt (Ralph Bushman) - to put an end to his reign of terror and clear Tom's name. Tom and The Three Musketeers narrowly escape death in episode after episode as they saddle up for a Sahara thrill ride in the name of truth justice and brotherhood! Shadow Of The Eagle: A real treat for John Wayne fans. The action and adventure the mystery and suspense is non stop in this original 12 part serial. Wayne plays Craig McCoy a stunt pilot who's part of a traveling fair. When a mysterious pilot known as The Eagle starts making murderous threats with sky-writing our guy jumps into action to try and find this villain. All the performers of the travelling fair get involved in one way or another. Some are prime suspects (for a while) others like the strong man and the ventriloquist use their talents to help catch the criminal. Suspect everyone suspect no one. The upper hand and evidence jumps back and forth between the bad guys and the good guys.
