Birgitte Nyborg has been Denmark's Prime Minister for two years - years that have taken their toll on her private life. She must now balance her role of PM with that of divorce and single-mother. Jacob has ostensibly taken time off work to write a book but in reality he's still coming to terms with his sister Julie's attemted suicide she is now seriously disabled and wheelchair bound. Jacob feels somehow responsible and his guilt has robbed his life of direction.
