Alan Bennett comedy, set in 1947, about a chiropodist and his wife (Michael Palin and Maggie Smith) who are keeping a pig from the authorities - the Second World War might have been over for two years, but food rationing is still in place, and that makes the pig a valuable property. The chiropodist has stolen the pig in order to fatten it up for a banquet celebrating the impending wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Phillip Mountbatten. But the pig is not as co-operative as he and his wife want it to be.
