Tina Fey and Paul Rudd star in this romantic comedy centred on the unexpected life changes that befall a priggish university admissions officer. Portia (Fey) maintains an outward veneer of calm and efficiency in the exalted position she holds, selecting the chosen few deemed suitable for Princeton University. But when she agrees to meet former college classmate John (Rudd) at his alternative-run school out in the sticks, her carefully constructed life begins to unravel. John believes that one of the gifted students that he's championing for Princeton, Jeremiah (Nat Wolff), is actually the child that Portia had adopted back in her college days. As Portia struggles with the ethics of helping to further Jeremiah's academic progress, a growing romance with John soon threatens to throw a spanner in the works of her hitherto orderly life.
