Animated film-noir featuring the voices of Miroslav Krobot and Karel Roden. Alois Nebel (Krobot), a lonely train dispatcher, sees the ghosts which haunt him and his country's past in the fog. Consumed by these visions he ends up in a sanatorium where he meets 'The Mute' (Roden) - a man who refuses to speak, with the only clue to his background being an old photograph. When Alois returns from his stint in the sanatorium, his country has changed once more. The Communist regime has fallen and with nothing to do he vows to find The Mute in an effort to battle these ghosts which haunt his and his country's fractured existence.
