Vincente Minnelli directs this classic American musical starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron. American G.I. Jerry Mulligan (Kelly) stays in Paris after the war to become a painter. There he falls in love with Lise Bouvier (Caron) despite her disinterest, only to discover that she is engaged to his friend Henri Baurel (Georges Guetary). Meanwhile, wealthy heiress Milo Roberts (Nina Foch) falls in love with Jerry after discovering his art and tries to win him over, unaware of his love for another woman. The film won six Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Writing and Best Music and was nominated for a further two.
