As moonlight blankets Tasmania's Cradle Mountain an eerie unearthly wail pierces the night and the she-devil secures another victim. Using infrared cameras inside her den this film follows the intensely private world of a young female Tasmanian Devil and her joeys. With gore-encrusted faces these slashed and disfigured undertakers of the Australian forests feast on rotten remains and have been seen to practice cannibalisation. Few if any other animals fit their name as aptly as the Tassie Devil and few live such violent and malevolent lives.
