Horror from director Brandon Cronenberg in which an employee at a clinic that harvests viruses from sick celebrities finds himself caught up in the mystery surrounding the death of a starlet. Syd March (Caleb Landry Jones) tries to maintain a sense of detachment while working in the clinic, the most startling manifestation of a celebrity culture that has reached the point of insanity. With fans now entering the clinic to be infected with the same virus as their favourite celebrity, Syd dutifully provides the injections and also earns a healthy side income by smuggling viruses out of the clinic in his own body and selling them on the black market. However, when Syd becomes infected with the same disease that kills superstar Hannah Geist (Sarah Gadon), he finds himself at the epicentre of the ensuing chaos, fighting against a potentially fatal illness while being pursued by distraught Geist fans and seeking to discover the mystery behind the star's death.
