Six volume set of WWII documentaries featuring over 16 hours of archive footage. In volume one, history comes to life through news reels, documentary footage and vintage commentary that portray the events which shaped the war in the Pacific. Volume two delves deeper into the Allied force's strategy as the actual action moves into the Pacific theatre. Volume three follows the final stages of the war in the Pacific and how its outcome would affect the decades to come. These episodes culminate in the eventual surrender and occupation of Japan, portrayed through footage rarely seen before. Volume four is the Academy Award-winning documentary, 'The True Glory' (1945), an account of the Allied invasions in Europe, introduced by Dwight D. Eisenhower. Volume five is the documentary, 'Prelude to War' (1943). Narrated by Walter Houston, it demonstrates how the political mistakes made at the end of WWI eventually led to WWII. Volume six focuses on six of the most decisive battles of the war.
