James Franco directs, co-writes and stars in this adaptation of William Faulkner's classic novel. After the death of Addie Bundren (Beth Grant), her husband Anse (Tim Blake Nelson), sons Cash (Jim Parrack), Darl (Franco), Jewel (Logan Marshall-Green) and Vardaman (Brady Permenter), and daughter Dewey Dell (Ahna O'Reilly) travel with her coffin to the town of Jefferson, Mississippi, where she wished to be buried. Each member of the family has their own motivations for completing the journey and the story is told from various characters' points of view.
