Collection of documentaries looking at three Second World War bombers. 'B17: Fortress of the Sky' looks at the history of the B17 Flying Fortress during World War II, focusing in particular on the first raid made by the USAAF on Nazi Germany on 17th August, 1943. Operating in daylight, the bomber fleet braved heavy anti-aircraft defence to attack the Messerschmitt factory at Regensburg. 'B-24: Liberator at War' looks at the B-24 Liberator, the mainstay of the American bombing fleet during the Second World War, and an aircraft that saw action on every front where American forces were engaged. Finally, 'B-25: Mitchell - The Legend' looks at the B-25 Mitchell, which was used extensively during the Second World War on bombing missions against Nazi Germany.
