Colourised version of this Second World War drama set in Poland and based on Bernard Newman's novel, 'They Saved London'. Stefan Nowak (Michael Rennie), a Polish resistance fighter, is captured by the Nazis and sent to a forced labour camp. He finds himself at Peenemünde, a top secret base where German scientists are working on a new and deadly form of weapon - the V.1, or Vengeance, flying bomb. Realising the awful potential of the Vengeance weapon, Nowak leads a group of resistance fighters on a mission to destroy the base and cripple the German war machine. The film features early appearances by Christopher Lee and Rod Steiger.
