In late June 1966 The Beatles played three celebrated concerts at the Budokan Hall in Tokyo Japan. On August 6 they released their album Revolver which broke new musical ground in terms of sound and instrumental variation. The Beatles used classical elements and pre-recorded tape loops to embellish lengthy elaborate songs like Eleanor Rigby Good Day Sunshine I'm Only Sleeping For No One and the psychedelic-flavoured Tomorrow Never Knows. In autumn that same year the band took a three-months vacation from which they emerged with a totally different image: their... mushroom hair style was a thing of the past their black suits had been replaced by colourful stage outfits and all band members had grown a moustache.
