Double bill of 1930s British musical comedies starring George Formby. In 'Boots! Boots!' (1934) hotel shoeshiner John Willie (Formby) seems incapable of doing his job properly, much to his employer's annoyance. However, John later gets the chance to demonstrate his true talent to the hotel guests by playing his banjo ukulele to accompany the dancing Snooky (Beryl Formby). 'Off the Dole' (1935) sees John Willie unemployed and cut off from benefits after four years. Luckily, he manages to get a job at his uncle's private detective firm where he investigates all manner of cases.
