The Austrian-Latvian Conductor Ilmar Lapinsch conducts Brahms' Symphony No. 2. Lapinsch's passion for the works of Brahms dates back to his adolescence. Since then Brahms has accompanied this extraordinary artist throughout his career and the recording in hand perfectly demonstrates Lapinsch's intensive analysis of this complex piece of music. The recordings for this DVD took place in Spring 2002 in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory famous for its unique acoustics and it presents artistic and technical quality at the highest level.
