Collection of three epic adventure films. In 'Braveheart' (1995), it's 14th century Scotland and the English nobles are staking their claim for lands and the Scottish throne. When William Wallace is left an orphan by the brutality of the English, he vows to make Scotland strong again. Wallace grows up into a paradox of a man - on the one hand very well educated, on the other a ruthless killer and barbarian. As an adult he succeeds in uniting the Scottish clans to fight the English oppressors, and is only undone by betrayal and greed. 'Tristan and Isolde' (2006) is set after the fall of the Roman Empire. The warlords of England are brutally kept in line by the forces of Irish King Donnchadh (David O'Hara). One of these leaders, Lord Marke (Rufus Sewell), seeks to unite the English tribes to form one strong nation to rule itself. His greatest knight is Tristan (James Franco), whom Marke raised since he was orphaned in an Irish attack that also took Marke's family. With Tristan by his side, Marke believes he can unify his people and rid England of Irish rule. But Tristan harbours a terrible secret... 'Rob Roy' (1995) is an updated version of the 1952 classic period drama, set in the 18th Century. The Scottish hero Rob Roy (Liam Neeson) borrows money from the powerful Marquess of Montrose (John Hurt) in order to provide for his MacGregor clan. However, Montrose's evil henchman Cunningham (Tim Roth) has other ideas and is determined to stop Rob Roy getting his way.
