After the Second World War it took a long time for motor racing to become re-established - a severe shortage of materials and the importance of re-building the industrial infra-structure across Europe left little over for building new racing cars let alone racing them. What little racing there was employed pre-war cars. But by the early fifties Europe was back on its feet and the Italian marques of Alfa Romeo Maserati and Ferrari to whom racing was a life blood re-entered the sport. Britain with little tradition of race car building started small... very small... the... tiny Cooper using a 500 cc motor-cycle engine. But these cars provided a superb training ground for a new generation of young British Drivers: Stirling Moss Tony Brooks Keith Duckworth Rob Walker Mike Hawthorn Jim Clark Graham Hill Jackie Stewart John Surtees James Hunt. In this fascinating DVD with the aid of often previously unseen archive film and unique interviews with the drivers themselves plus comments from colleagues competitors and race team managers and owners we meet many of those great names who are The British Legends of Motor Sport.
