The English Lake District is one of the most spectacular areas in the country as mountains tumble downwards to the sea forming a mighty backdrop to one of Britain's great railway journeys. Carried along by modern sprinters there is always plenty to see on our trip that forms a circuit around Cumbria and the Lake District. Beginning at Carnforth home to Steamtown Carnforth we head north through Oxenholme to Staveley and then onto Windermere and the Windermere Steamboat Museum. We continue on to Cark with its Stately home and Motor Museum then onto Ulverston ... birthplace of Stan Laurel and home to the Laurel and Hardy Museum.
