Winner of the Sutherland Trophy at the 2002 London Film Festival, this debut feature from writer-director Delphine Gleize is an example of 'un film chorale' - a film telling several interrelated stories. In Spain, a young matador is critically injured in the bullring, and the offending bull is quickly killed and its various body parts dispatched to various places in Europe. The film then follows the stories of those whose lives the dead bull inadvertently touches, including an unfaithful university scientist whose wife is having quintuplets, a little girl who imagines a world where animals are bigger than people, a struggling actress doing a supermarket promotion and a taxidermist whose mother is withholding a family secret.
