Five-part BBC adaptation of Nina Bawden's children's novel. When 14-year-old Carrie Willow (Juliet Waley) and her younger brother Nick (Andrew Tinney) are evacuated from London to the small Welsh village of Druid's Bottom during World War II, they are taken in by the strict shopkeeper Mr. Evans (Aubrey Richards), his sister Auntie Lou (Avril Elgar) and their housekeeper Hepzibah Green (Rosalie Crutchley). It doesn't take the young siblings long to settle in to village life and learn some of the magical history of Druid's Bottom.
