A Unique And Privileged Look Behind The Scenes As The Chinese Army Prepared To Reclaim Hong Kong At midnight on July 1st 1997 after 150 years of British rule history was made when four thousand Chinese troops crossed the border to reclaim control of Hong Kong. The impeccably orchestrated handover was the result of four years intense training for the soldiers under the command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). Each soldier endured months of early morning marching drills gruelling physical training and much-dreaded self-criticism sessions to become a defender... of the reclaimed land.
