Coming-of-age comedy drama about a public school reject who wins over friends at his new school by becoming their 'psychiatrist'. After being expelled from one boarding school after another, Charlie Bartlett (Anton Yelchin) finds it hard to adapt to life at his new public high school, run by the reluctant Principal Gardner (Robert Downey Jr.). After surviving the initial laughter and skepticism of his new classmates, he realises he has a talent for listening to their problems and offering advice where it's most needed. Realising he's onto a winner, Charlie extends his operations to handing out prescriptions to the hard-pressed student body, and as his popularity grows, the once anarchic school turns into a different place altogether.
